In 1998, when
Australians started hearing about the Internet, we started paying
attention too.
The question was asked by two local real estate agents over a beer, "how
can you own Internet Real Estate?" After tossing a few ideas around we
discovered that nothing much changes really, its all about location,
location, location. With this in mind we began exploring the realm of
Virtual Property.
Virtual Property Developments Pty Ltd began Registering Geographic
Domain Names but it wasn't to be a quick or easy task. Many names had
been taken, most by foreigners to our shores with the the same vision
and foresight a year or two earlier. The remaining balance of
reasonably populated domain locations were getting scarce even at this
stage.
After 12 months we had secured one of the most comprehensive portfolios
of Domain names (Virtual Property) in Australia.
Since then we have continued to increase our Portfolio and build online
communities around Australia.
In 2008 the remaining Cityof...coms were activated with over half of
these names currently 'getting to know' the online search engines and
local directories.
We are a network of stand alone local websites committed to building

The turn in Global economy is seen by us as an opportunity in a rapidly
changing Digital Media technology. Newspapers around the globe are
closing as more and more news is sourced via the Internet. If this
continues our Local websites, complete with Business and Community
information, will be a permanent icon on the screen of many residents of
our .com (Domain).
Continual investment in Research and Technology will ensure that
ultimately we will be able to provide the necessary platform to further
develop our Australian network of Communities.
